iPiccy is a simple online photo editor that allows users to alter their images whenever they want. Users can upload an image from their computer, web cam, a URL or create a new painting to start from scratch. Three sample pictures are also provided if the user would like to explore iPiccy without uploading a personal photo. The application provides many simple editing tools which include crop, rotate and flip, resize, equalize, light and contrast, hue and saturation as well as color editing tools. Filters are also available so the user can add a blur, emboss, noise or sharpen effect. iPiccy includes a list of frames to put around the image, which include simple rounded corners, vignette effects, drop shadow effect or a colorful picture frame. Tabs allow the user to add text in a large number of attractive fonts as well as special effects like the cartoonizer, pencil drawing, pop art, HDR picture, old photo, peeling paint and wanted poster effects.
iPiccy was founded in March of 2011. The application was intended to provide users with an easy online photo editor tool that they could access any time they like. The company currently remains small, with fewer than 10 employees including CEO Alex Bespechny. The current version is entirely web-based and includes a large variety of tools and effects. iPiccy is currently in beta.
iPiccy provides users with many ways to edit a photo whenever they need to. The application is web-based so it can be accessed any time from any computer with internet access. The iPiccy photo editor is very easy to use. The image appears in the center of the page, taking up a majority of the user’s view when using the editor. Along the left hand side, the user is presented with the available tools and effects. Users can toggle their view by clicking the four tabs at the top of the page. Each time a tab is selected, a new set of tools appears along the left hand side.
Visitors are not required to register to use iPiccy. To get started, the user only has to click the gold “Start Editing!” button positioned at the bottom, center of the homepage. A blue “Picture Editor” link can also be found in the lower, left hand corner of the page. At this time, there is no registration option and all users are given the same access to the available tools and features.
iPiccy does not charge for access to its photo editor. Any visitor can immediately access the editor without logging in. The application is currently in beta, so it is possible that this could change later. At this time, there is no indication that a fee will be added for access to iPiccy’s features.
